Seller Terms & Tips
We are excited to have so many wonderful sellers in the Friday Flea Market! Scroll down to check out the helpful tips on how to get your FFM "shop" started. You have the freedom to sell from your website, our FFM fuzzb marketplace, your blog, your etsy shop, your ebay, ecrater, etc. You get to pick! But regardless of where you sell from, there are some basic guidelines that we all stick to.
Terms:
1) Fresh items will keep shoppers coming back so all the sellers agree to have new items listed at least once a month. There is no FFM police but our staff will be peeking in from time to time and if we notice the same items week after week, our buyers will too. With 100 links, it frustrates the shoppers if the sites aren't kept fresh. Believe me, if you keep new items coming, your sales will increase. If you are selling from a blog, it is all the more necessary to post new items each week because it's more noticable if your inventory doesn't change.
2) Our greatest form of advertisement is each other! So we all have a widget on our blog/site which links back to the shopping page. This helps keep the shopping going smoothly too. You can get a widget below (just right click to save it to your computer). Feel free to use the one that fits your site or blog style. Please use this link with your widget: http://www.fridayfleamarket.net/category_6/Go-Shopping.htm (that will link shoppers directly to the shopping page!)
Selling Tips & Helpful Information:
SELLING OPTIONS:
1) Sell from your Website
Some of us have online stores/websites that we use ( see Here).
2) Sell from our Fuzzb Marketplace
The Friday Flea Market has it's own marketplace on Fuzzb. You are welcome to create a page there and we can link to your fuzzb page. It functions similar to ebay but without the fees. Every seller has their own store that shows only your items. You can personalize it with your own banner and background too! Here is an example of my store. After check-out, you'll be redirected to a welcome letter with instructions for how to get your FFM fuzzb account set up.
3) Sell from Etsy, Ebay or another selling forum
You're welcome to sell from your etsy or ebay store. Just add our FFM link on your mainpage/profile.
4) Sell from Ecrater
This is one of the best selling options in my opinion. It's entirely free (no fees whatsoever), you can list as many items as you like and it comes with a free shopping cart so that your customers can pay for all their items at one time via paypal or google checkout. Here is an example of an ecrater store. Click here to open your own store
5) Sell from a Blog (only if you'll add new items regularly)
Some girls sell directly from a blog and just request that buyers leave a comment letting them know which item(s) they wish to purchase ( see HERE). Then they make contact via email to arrange payment, etc. You can add paypal buttons for payment if you wish. See below for how to do that. The advantage of this is that it's like a mini-website. It has it's own URL address. *If you sell from a blog, you should disable the post dates (in Blogger, go into "Customize" then "Edit blog posts", and uncheck the first box). Dates make it very obvious when you updated last :)
Other Info:
A) Paypal offers a free "Buy Now" button and it's an easy option. Here's a link for directions on how to add a "Buy Now" button through Paypal if you would like to use that. Google Check-Out has a super easy system with either buy now buttons or a shopping cart. Also, CoffeeCup has a shopping cart that you can add to any website but I haven't tried it out.
C) What can I sell? What time should I post? How do I add the link to the widget?
Above all, remember that lovely given will be lovely received
The FFM is not responsible for sales, items, damages or losses. This is merely a forum for buyers and sellers. Any disputes a buyer may have will be directly with the individual seller. |
