Our lampwork studio contains a stainless steel bench so no need to worry about melting/burning the table if glass happens to land on the bench! The torches in the studio are Nortel Minor Burners which in the near future will have quick connects to be able to swap out torches. Both torches run off of propane gas plumbed in from the outside and oxygen concentrators. To exhaust the fumes there is a 1600 CFM blower that vents out the second floor window and there is a window that is open on the bottom floor for make up air.

There are two kilns at the studio, one is a digitally controlled annealer kiln (Jen-Ken Chili Pepper) used to cool the beads at a slow rate to allow even cooling for the beads which prevents the beads from cracking. The other kiln is a annealing/fusing kiln (AF-99), this one is out of commission since the controller started to smoke once turned on so needs to be replaced.
The glass used is primarily soft glass; Effetre, CiM, Vetrofond, Double Helix, Bullseye, Uroboros, System 96 and scrap stained glass. Some of this glass is not compatible with each other so they are kept separate by compatibility to avoid confusion.
